Minnesota Department Of Natural Resources Area Headquarters Fergus Falls, MINNESOTA The new Area Headquarters building brought together employees from several areas for the first time. The existing office/warehouse building was totally remodeled for this purpose. The result is a very successful project, giving the DNR a new fresh image, and a facility that greatly improves their operating efficiency. The existing metal component building was remodeled to provide a comfortable office environment housing 45 employees in 13,500 SF, with the remainder used as vehicle parking and storage. Existing mechanical systems were re-used, and added to as required. Minnesota Sustainable Design guidelines were used in site design, building design and construction methods, resulting in an excellent score of 76 points on a 100 point scale.
