Scherer Brothers Far North Window Division Champlin, MINNESOTA The Design Partnership planned the 19.9 acre Elm Creek Commerce Center, which designated 8.6 acres Retail/Commercial use and 10.3 acres for Industrial use. The Industrial Park has been leased entirely by Scherer Brothers. The “Far North Window Division” facility provides a total area of 181,500 s.f., with 18’ interior clearance. The plant warehouses pre-cut and pre-finished products, which are assembled on an as-needed basis and shipped daily via the owner’s own trucking system. Special Design Elements: Design within a planned neighborhood development. Low rack design and ergonomics on assembly line. Shipping/receiving design had complex site demands. Provide off-gassing room in warehouse. Accommodated CTC equipment. Planned reuse of end wall panels in phase 2 expansion.
